Remington model 700 SPS stainless
Since I cant find a Remington XCR II in 300 RUM I might get a SPS Stainless and was wondering for those that have a SPS whats your likes and dislikes of it?

I don't have an SPS stainless but I do have an SPS with detachable magazine, chambered in 7mm08. It does an inch at 100 yards, and seems reliable enough; good utility gun. Be prepared to have the trigger adjusted, though; it seems to come from the factory with a bit of a heavy trigger. One other thing I've noticed is that shooting it at the range, the barrel seems to heat up a little quick, so I've needed to give it cooling time between shots. If you can find one, I'd say go for it.

I have on in 243 Winchester and love it. Actually bought it for a doner action but it shot so good that five years later I still have it as a 243. I did put it up in a wood BDL stck.

You can probably go to a Walmart, Sportsman's Warehouse or Dick's Sporting goods and special order an XCR II. I just special ordered an XCR II in 375 H&H from Dick's Sporting goods in Colorado Springs this past Monday and got $100 off from their month long sale that's going on. I'm expecting the rifle to arrive no later than this coming Tuesday.

Regards,

Chuck

Mind me asking what you ended up paying after the $100 off?

I have a sps stainless 25/06. I like everything but the stock. I replaced with a bell and carlson.

I bought one a short while back in 7 mag. I owned it two days and shot two deer with it just to break it in. It shoots 139 grain Hornadys into 1/2 inch. I am still playing with 160 Noslers for a moose hunt next fall. I love the fact that you can adjust the trigger yourself. For me, the stock is just fine. It is a great gun at a reasonable price in my opinion.
