I already have a CZ 9.3x62 American...and would like to move past the 375 H&H to just one big gun probably in a 416 something (remmy x rigby???) instead of a 458 WMg x 458 Lott for a DG gun. What are the pro's and con's of re chambering my Mauser to the Brenneke round since the Mauser is pretty much a reloader's cartridge anyway. I have not bought any reloading gear yet and it occurs to me that I can pick up about 300 fps across the board with the Brenneke with a little larger investment in brass and dies, plus of course the rechambering work....for a lot cheaper than buying a H&H.

Someone on this board did the x64 rechamber of a 9.3x62 CZ550. From what I recall, the bolt face had to be opened up but no feed work was needed. Magazine capacity was reduced from five rounds to four...

I'd be less concerned about the conversion and more concerned about feeding a 9.3x64 in the US. Search for threads on problems finding good brass, etc.

I just bought a bunch of nice 9.3 x 64 brass from Huntington Reloading Supplies. They have a big barrel full of them right now. Price is very fair as well. Whenever I embark on building another rifle in a semi-exotic chambering I just buy 300 pieces of brass. Generally that is enough for a lifetime or two of hunting. A year or two later I generally get nervous about it and buy another 300 pieces. That will cover a few generations.

Anyway, this batch of 9.3 x 64 brass is made by Dieter Horneber for Huntington, and seems to be of nice quality.

I got mine, how about you ?
