I know that Mauser in Germany custom builds this rifle. I have used it in Namibia. Pretty good cal.

Wasn't that Goering's round of choice in Nazi Germany?

Ja Herr Goring's Non-Plus-Ultra kieler waffe!

Harold Wolf of Safari Times fame built a new 9.3x70 Brenneke about 20-25 years ago on a Mauser action.

Had good success with it in Africa and I believe Australia.

I made arrangements to buy it from him, and then he dissapeared. Ended up reaching out to him about 10 years later and he had left the hunting industry and went back to aviation industry.

Not sure if he is still alive or not, he was injured chopping wood and ended up with some nerve problems that kept him out of the game fields.

I don't think he had the finances to self fund his life anymore.

He was a nice man, and an interesting gunsmith.

Tony Sanchez-Arino had a 500 Geoffery that Harold Wolf had made him.

It the fastest of the 9.3s..Ive shot it some, never huntedd with it but witnessed it on buffalo, Lion and a Hippo, maybe a Leopard, not sure..A German hunter in camp..It was a amazing killer IMO..Recoil was such I think Id prefer a 9.3x64 or 375..plus components are easier to come by..

I recall at times his bullets broke up, He said it was a problem...I suspected from the get go the available bullets were for the 9.3x62 and the 9.3x64 velocity and that appears correct, but I suggested he use Barnes X and GS customs..

When they worked they were awesome, and worked well for the most part..He got by but had room for improvement with the barnes bullets/

93x64mm
It would be like the 378 Weatherby, way over speed really for normal projectiles. If you used Woodleigh hydros it would exit regardless of placement. better to go to a bigger bore frankly. Mind you it would certainly be a head turner on the gun rack, or a fantastic anti-material round; the Russians use the 9.3x64mm in that role - just more of a good thing I guess!
