Vapodog, You almost hit the nail on the head.
Yesterday I got the quarterly rag from Dakota. They are selling "special" Model 10 and Model 76 dakota's in .30-06's to celebrate it's 100th birthday. only 101 of each will be made. At only $8200.00 for the model 10 and $9000.00 for the M76 I think it's a steal! Eeker HA!(sarcasm) Here's the real kicker though, for an additional $1100.00 you can get a $800 Swarovski AV scope with the same serial# as the rifle! Man what a bargan!

Ruger may do something too, but you were spot on about the "Commemorative rifles"

Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I have no crystal ball but if I was remugerchesterage I'd be making special runs of commoratives in .30-06.

The Dakota thing just seems like a typical Dakota rip off. Way-ta-%&@$ overpriced. And a scope with the same number?

Boy....that'll sell like hot cakes!!!!

Super Bon Bon
YOu boys ain't seen Big G's commemorative yet?

Take a look under their Special Run banner on their website (under firearms). Unless you like maple (and I don't), you'll find it butt-a$$ed ugly (like I do).

It's been posted here.....and it's a big disappointment from Remington.

I actually expect them to recall their classic for this year......one never knows.
