41remSpeer 30 cal. 180gr. Deep-Shok
I'm going to try some of these in my 300 wby. With a big dose of IMR 7828 looks like they will be spinning out of the 26"bbl @ 3200fps Anyone use them on elk or bigger this year??......

AtkinsonThey are a great bullet in the 06, but thats too fast for anything except a premium bullet, anytime you shoot a magnum then use a premium bullet as the bullets integrity is first and foremost in killing game...

41remThanks, hey 4BB, sounds like you got your elk. How did that deep-shok hold-up, and did you recover it??......

4bambamMy neighbor wanted to shot his spike with my 7STW. We found one Second day, he wanted to shoot it in the shoulder. It was walking broad side from us, and the range finder kept going from 230 to 240. Think the battery was on the way out. He aimed at the top of its back and hit just behind the shoulder in under the spine a ways. It droped right there. Had hit one rib on exit side, exit hole was about 3 inches in diamater. found 1 little pedal of jacket stuck in the hide. I think I am going to use the 139gr Interbond this Dec13-Jan Cow hunt and try the same shot, behind the shoulder cause I know what that looked like with the 139 interlock sp at 3530av.fps with Imr7828-83gr
