ldkierCast Bullet molds for 9.3 .366
Does any one know of any of these molds for casting 9.3 bullets? Finding one was imposibile.
So, made a mold from plaster-of Paris that cast a
a 272 gr. bullet from pure lead. I had to true the base, to come to 266 gr. It measured .364.
I went on to paper patch the bullet with bakers parchment. After patching it measured .367+
I found my rifle, after cerocast had a Very long
leade. I loaded some of my home made PP bullets
with a well decided load of H-4198.
It was FANTASTIC!!! At 50m it produced one nice
ragged hole!!! The load cronographed at 1078 f.p.s. E.S. at 17 fps for ten shots.
The Rifle is a Husqvarna 146. 9.3x57. It was fantastic for these few shots, but my paster mold is about to disentergate.
It would be nice to find some molds, or even have one made to duplicate.
These old 9.3x57's are so perfect for cast.
Anybody know anything about this?

Lynn Beiermountain molds will make one for you. Their on line design software allows you to set up how you want bullet. I had one made and it is really accurate. Lynn

Andre MertensI own an ancient but still unused Lyman 366708 mould. It is said to cast a 245 gn bullet with #2 alloy.
Some day, I will give it a try with my 9,3x62's.

Dave BushIdkier:
With 286 grain Hornadys being so cheap, I figure there is no need to mess with cast bullets.

vipCheck the cast bullet forum. I think they're trying to get some molds made there. Paul.

mstarlingTry NEI. Their 366-260 GC GG is a fine bullet. Weighs 290 gr for me when cast in wheel weights and lubed with Carnauba Red. See page 7 of their catalog:

gzig5There is a group buy for a 286gr design on the Cast Boolits board. Look in the Active Group Buy forum. If you can't find it, PM me. I think a two holer is about $68 and it's $4 for each extra hole up to five. You can get a mix of gas check, plain base, or hollow point(exra $). I'm trying to decide if I want to buy or make something like you did and paper patch. I need to get a set of dies first and can't seem to find any 9.3x57.
