Hey, I am Oregon by way of Minnesota also!

Anyway, I looked over some last weekend at the new Cabelas, when I was up in Washington.. as I have been thinking about one....

They seemed to be okay for the money.. I am looking for one for a Model 70, post 64....

However, I am now debating to either go with a Hogue Rubber stock, which I did like better and is cheaper.. or the opposite end of the spectrum and looking at an HS Precision for $350.00 which will mean some saving up to do...

as I am also thinking about a Leupold VX 3 in the $675.00 range..... aww maybe I'll hit powerball and it won't be a financial concern then!

If price were the same, I'd go with the Hogue.. but the Hogue is cheaper, but heavier...
and better made than the B & C stocks that I saw at Cabelas...

Just put one on my Remington M700 early model ADL Mtn rifle. Fit was perfect after I touched up one pillar tube with a file. It is the same stock I saw on a used Ti. Very well made and a vast improvement over the factory tupperware IMO.

FWIW,
I like 'em. That said, the one I like best is the Medalist. It is a much stiffer, foam filled 'glass stock, as opposed to the injection molded Carbelite. The Carbelite is on a par with the Rem factory tupperware stock, & maybe a Ramline(?) and I manage to get by with them quite well. Of course that's after bedding, free-floating, and in some cases adding some forearm stiffening. New paint jobs are a given. But for a cheapy, they'll do for now.
Given my druthers, I'd probably have all lightweight models like the Edge, Brown's Pounder, Summit XL, and the like. Since I'm not dealing with an unlimited income, I compromise.

It's the little things that matter.

I have a B&C stock on a Rem 700, LH .223.

Seems nice enough. I bought the rifle which as a former varmint weight that had ben nicely machined down to a normal contour, fitted with the B&C stock and even had the bottom metal colored to match the green stock.

Shoots very well and I use it on varmints around here.

I like the stock and being left handed, it's one of the few ways I can go.

I order one for a Model 70 about a year ago and when I received it I could hold the butt stock and twist the fore-end about 3/4 of an inch. Just put it back in the box and sent it back.

I know they make the stocks for Weatherby rifles, and they fit (me and the barreled action) about as well as I could ask. I'm a big fan of the number of finishes they offer, so I'd say see how one fits and maybe give it a try.
