Nice ZG-47 up for sale at Cabela's
If my CC wasn't so beaten up from Chistmas gift's you would have never seen this link Wink These don't come up for sale very often and this one looks mint from the pictures.

ZG-47 in .270

It looks to be a better deal than I got on mine. Just thought if any of you had any interest in these rifles this one would be a great to have in the collection.

Terry - you just made me break my New Years resolution before I even got to the New Year!

I do wonder if there has been finishing. The writing on the barrel looks to me like Waffen Frankonia .... and from the photos the action wall might be missing the 'brno made in chezchoslovakia'. The barrel looks to have a few too many proof marks too. Even so it looks in very good condition and the stock is fantastic.

Maybe Alf will comment? Marked '62 - seems quite a late date?

HA! It was too nice to last long. I'm glad you got it. Now the temptation is gone.

As far as the markings go, who know's? I've never seen two that look alike so why should that one be any different Wink

It's a beauty and a good price to boot. You did well.

holy crap that is one nice rifle, that was a smokin deal, imagine owning a rifle like that for the price of a new weatherby or sako. even the bottom metal on those look like quality and the wood was awesome too!!!! not only that its in my favorite 270 win, nice buy!!

in times when one needs a rifle, he tends to need it very badly.....PHC

1894, speak of striking while the iron is hot! Congratulations on what looks like a darn nice gun!

It took a while before I spotted the "Waffen Frankonia" - positioned on top of the barrel. Frankonia has had quite a few guns manufactured for their resale over the years. This is not an unusual marking in Germany. The stock is perhaps a bit of a surprise in this context - being decidly American as opposed to German in style.

Great buy!
