Sako TRG M10 Switch barrel
Got one of these, in 308 Winchester and 338 Lapua Magnum.

And as with all Sako's, it is a work of art!

Everything works very smoothly.

I installed a KAHLES K1015 10-50x56 scope on it.

I shot a few type of ammo in it, from Federal, Laupa and Hornady.

Everything shot so well, I am very impressed with moth the rifle and ammo!

The barrel can be changed very easily in the field with a supplied tool.

I will post targets.

Saeed, just take into account that the Kahles 1050 is NOT a LR scope. Very limited range of adjustment and 1/8 MOA per click. Clearly defined as a competition precision scope. Completely unable for long range work. I mention this given the rifle it is mounted on, which is a fine setup for LR work, most specially with the the 338LM

If it doesn’t work I have plenty here to change.

We keep at least 60 units in store at any given time.

Kahles, Swarovski, Zeiss, S&B, Leupold etc.

I have it set at 24x for my testing at 100 yards.

I have shot several M10 before, all shot extremely well.

But with this my intention is to try what ammo I have.

Found a few boxes of ammo with unknown specs.

These are the ones I load when we have some powder left in the charge master and whatever suitable bullets around.

I keep these in our range for visitors to shoot.

Would a sloping rail make that Kahles a long-range scope? Without one, or perhaps a March Genesis, needing huge adjustment ranges is a dubious idea, anyway. Strange things can happen out there on the perimeter.

The rifle's built in rail has a 30 MOA slope.

Thanks Saeed, that should help a fair bit, I imagine, at least out to 600 yards or so. Can rails with more slope be added?

The rifle has an adjustable cheek piece, which I can raise quite a bit.

Right now it is on its lowest setting.

So if I wanted to add another rail, that should not be a problem.

I think I have a special barrel on this one.

The barrel hardly fouls.

It is VERY accurate with a variety of ammo and loads.

It will be interesting to see how the 338 Lapua Magnum barrel fairs.

I am still shooting the 308, and will post the targets.

Week end gets busy with kids shooting so hopefully I will get a chance to shoot a few more groups during this week.

Fascinating how things can turn out.

I have changed the barrel to the 338 Lapua Magnum.

Shortly I will post the targets I shot with the 308 Winchester barrel.

The 308 barrel hardly got dirty at all, despite extensive shooting.

The brand new 338 Lapua Magnum barrel seems to be so dirty, I have run about 30 patches through it with copper solvents and it is still coming out green!!

Never shot here at all, so all this from the factory shooting.

Not sure how much they had shot it though.

I do have some factory ammo from different makers, and will try these as well as some reloads

These are the targets of the 308 Winchester barrel.

I will post the 338 Lapua Magnum targets once they are done.

I have seen these, although I’ve never handled one.

It is a gigantic rifle for a .308!

But that’s what you get with a platform designed to accommodate the much larger .338 Lapua.

I would want something a bit nimbler in .308.

Seems to be quite accurate.

Hard to beat the Fed Premium Gold Medal stuff, at least for the combination of accuracy and velocity. Amazing results with the 115 year old powder!

I have a TRG 22 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Your .308 groups look a lot like my 6.5. Strangely it likes hornady cheap ammo. The 140 BTHP Match bullet is what it likes best.

What do you think of it as far as a .308? Would you get the standard TRG 22 or get the M10 switch barrel if you would do it again? Pretty obviously it shoots the .308 very well.

I have several TRG rifles, in both 308 and 338 Lapua.

All shoot very well.

My daughter has an M10 in 308 and she loves it.
