finally got it
Finally got my new moose gun, purchased the Saco 75 S.S. in 300 Rum. and topped it with a3x9 Zeiss conquest. Now here is the kicker for living north of the border and a failing dollar, gun cost $1320.00 plus tx.(15%) scope $775.00 plus tx.(15%) come's to grand total of $2543.00 canadian. Probably about $1200 American. Now how much is that moose meat a pound.(Ha,Ha) Got'a love this hunt'n, EHHHH.

Richard-I just received my own 300ultramag from my gunbuilder. It is a trued and lapped 700 stainless action with sako extractor installed, with a pac-nor match grade fluted barrel pillar bedded into a mcmillan stock. The price was $2500 canadian.Add in the swarovski 3x10x42 scope and mounts at a total of $1200 canadian then add tax and there isn't much change left from $4000 canadian.I prefer not to think about the cost per pound so I don't have to try to justify it to myself.

The only thing better than shooting a new gun is seeing the first animal it is fired at hit the ground.

The more you shoot, the less the cost of the meat!! [Big Grin]

Just don't EVER try to calculate a cost per fish!!

Good Hunting,

Bob

Richard, stubblejumper, If you guys add up what you have spent on two rifles, I figure you could completely fill about 13 freezers with meat. Happy hunting boys. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
