teroenzaSavage Prices
Hello All
Ive been considering buying a savage 12Fv or 10FP LE1 in .308. The 10FP has an MSRP of $621 and the 12FV of $569. The only differences I see are that 10FP has a barrel 2 inches shorter (which I thought would make it cheaper),matte blue action instead of blued, and an extra swivel for a bipod. So it costs another $52 for an extra swivel, matte, and 2" less barrel?
Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks
-Josh

POPThey both shoot like a dream. Handle both and then decide. For the 308 I would go tactical. no nead for 2" of barrel.

teroenzaThats why I was confused. What makes it "tactical"? Most bi-pods(quality ones) have a sling attachment built in. I guess the slightly less weight for the -2" of barrel would be better for feild use. Then comes matte vs blueing, as long as it's not reflective or non-eyecatching color it would be "tactical". Is there more quality in the LE rifles or somthing?

boltmanSame quality in all of them. The only difference is the matte bluing and 2" less barrel plus the word "tactical" which is a way of opening the wallets of the guys who read soldier of fortune and the myrid of police magazines.
Get the BVSS instead, it's got a really nice laminated stock and stainless barreled action. I once had a FVSS and the only thing I didn't like was the flimsy stock. Savage's plastic stock is really flimsy and it feels kind of silly with the heavy profile varmit barrels.
