Southgate FN Weatherby's vs German or Japanese Mark Vs
Hi, I've always lusted after a Weatherby in 270 Weatherby Magnum, don't ask me why. Which would you chose an FN Southgate, a Japanese or or German Mark V Deluxe?

Thanks!

Regards,

Chuck

I like the Japanese, but others might think different.

I've owned two Japanese Mark V's one was a total disaster the other a fairly decent rifle. IMHO the Southgate Weatherby's are pretty good rifles.

I really like my FN mauser in 300 wby. Never had any interest in a Weatherby rifle until I saw this one on a used gun rack. Whats interesting is that they tend to be priced lower than Mark Vs. Usually you see these in 300 or 257, if you know of one in 270 you might want to buy it now and ask questions later, if its in good shape.

Not all, but some of the German produced weatherby's have a very slow twist in their barrels, thus creating a not to accurate rifle.

Mjne is Japanese. I own 6 Wby's and the 270 is my favorite. It's as accurate as any rifle I own with Wby ammo. If I due my part it's a .5 MOA gun...........Tom

Thanks I'm definitely looking for one, and a Mark V Deluxe will definitely scratch the itch as well.
