Wildcat - If you're gonna make 35 Newton case with these, could you spare a formed case for me?

I'm going to make 8X68S cartridges out of them. [Big Grin]

I just wanted to compare brass life and/or performance when RWS is compared to Hirtenberger.

Brass life for the RWS will need to be 4Xs better than the Hirtenberger or have a (very) signifigant performance advantage to make it cost efective.

[Embarrassed] Awww shucks! What kind of Wildcat Junkie are you anyway???

I've been looking for a non-belted .35 cal project, but 35 Whelen and 358 Norma just aren't tickling my fancy. The 35 Newton had the right mystical appeal, but case availability seem to be a problem. I've been thinking about a 404 Jeffrey case cut to 2.5" It would be along the lines of a 358-375 Dakota, 358-416 Howell or simply a 2.5" 358 mid-length Ultra Mag. I'll keep looking, I guess.

Lars G:

Why not just neck up the 8X68S to .358?

There is also a European version of an "Ackley Improved" variant of the 8X68S, neck that baby up to .358 [Eek!]

W-J: That's what the 35 Newton is!!! - a 358-8x68 Imp. But if cases are hard to find, or cost more than $1.00 each that's a major consideration. Plus, I got this thing for nickel plated cases, especially for field rounds. I don' think I'll find 8x68 nickel plated.

Do tell us which has more case capacity - the RWS or the Hirtenberger.
