Mike73Sighted in my favorite deer rifle today
Not so much sighting it in, as just checking the zero. My 300 wby is still grouping minute of grapefruit at 300 yds, off the tailgate of my pick-up truck, with 25 year old ammo.(and 40 yr old eyes.

)
I used to be able to hold a 2" group, when I had all a good bench, and all the time in the world. I know she'll do better than me, and I won't even be that steady in field positions, so i'm happy. Really though, it felt good to get out and shoot dads rifle.
I have the little A-bolt zeroed, and the super redhawk is there too. Just waiting for next Saturday.
I know it's not much of a technical post, but just had to vent, as being military, it's been my first day off in awhile.
Happy hunting boys.

Fish30114Always good to confirm zero, boost the confidence and get the 'let's go hunting' juices flowing! It's always comforting to me to know one of my rigs is holding it's own year after year, and makes me feel good about toting it on the hunt.
It being your Dad's rifle just makes it all better--Good on Ya!

Red C.I can't imagine sitting in my deer stand with a rifle that i hadn't checked the zero on in months. I have some that are always on, but I sure like to know that for sure. I think that extra bit of confidence could be the difference in making a good shot or not.
