ATTN: 300 H&H magnum shooters
I find myself the proud owner of a TC custom shop barrel chambered for ye grand olde 300H&H magnum. My problem is getting a supply of empty cases going. At online retailers they are either outrageously expensive, out of stock or both.

So what do ya'll do to feed your H&H, neck down .375 cases?

To the things that you are sayin' who do you thinks gonna hear
And if you should die explainin' how the thing they complain about
Or the things they could be changing who do you thinks gonna care

or 300 Weatherby or 7MM STW or 8MM Rem Mag.

You can also buy loaded ammo and either shoot it or pull the bullets.

My advice is to search all the appropriate web sites on a consistent basis. Eventually, you'll find some for a reasonable price. It's a lot easier if you're willing to take "once fired" brass. Of course, we all know the risk in doing that.
Just my $.02.

Winchester does one limited run a year. Call them and find out when the next run will be and get some back ordered with a big supplier.
If you neck down 375 brass check your neck thickness and turn if necessary for your chamber.

i'm making 300 H&H's from 300 Weatherrby's

run them through a 375 h&h FL die (without the expander stem), then through a regular 300H&H FL die. I'm using Imperial sizing die wax.

didn't wreck any cases, and since you aren';t changing the neck, no worries about uneven thicknesses.

you can skip the 375 H&H die, but it goes a lot easier doing it in two steps. the 375 die sizes the body, then the 300 die sizes the shoulder. I also had to trim 30 thou off since they lengthened a bit.

You could also use 7 STW or 8 RM, which are also cheap and available, but I like not sizing the neck up/down

Sounds like someone should have done some more homework before bringing that baby home.

I'm not worried, I bought the rifle knowing full well I would probably have to form brass, I asked the question in the sense of finding out how others make 300 H&H brass.

IIRC our local gunshop has a couple boxes of old 8mm magnum cases. I'll probably snag them and reform them

You can also run 8 mm mag brass straight through your 300 dies, trim and go. I bought a huge quantity of Winchester HH brass last year and thought I was getting ripped at that time and everyone is correct the price is still going up.

So, how does that new barrel shoot? I spent a small fortune aquiring all the components and never had a chance to shoot that barrel. Sorry I sold most of the components before you bought the barrel (had 200 rounds of Win virgin brass). Hope it serves you well.

And I see RP and WW .300 H&H quite a lot at MT gun shows and even at gun shops. I've ordered brass from GRAF's and Lock,Stock and Barrel as well.
