Opinions/Help needed please
I have a Win Mod 70 coyote in 270WSM. So far any load that I have loaded for it will more or less touch bullet holes at 100 yds with the first load.
It handles like a club though. So I am thinking about trading it to another 270 that is more suited as a carry rifle.

Do you think I should trade it?
Should I just keep it and get another rifle later?
Do you think I would regret it if I traded it off?

I dont know much but i can give an opinion. If you have found an accurate rifle keep it. If u have found a rifle thats accurate but not suited to the job at hand (carry around rifle)re-stock it. But the main thing when buying a rifle is the overall feel and wieght to me. First i look at features then caliber. Buti wouldnt sell if it shoots that good.

Mediocre rifles are a dime a dozen.. Good shooters are something to hang on to. Maybe all you need is a stock that fits better. Re-stocking isn’t that difficult and there is a lot to choose from. A nice laminate in a color scheme you like might be a place to start…

Why do they call it common sense, when it is so uncommon??

That rifle needs to go!!!

The sooner the better, in fact, I would sell it at a substantially discounted rate....$100 sound fair? I would certainly take it off your hands ASAP....as a favor to a fellow AR member of course..... Big Grin

..... a new stock might be a good place to start....

Since your a Georgia boy like Critter Killer maybe you could convince his Moma to let him start reloading. thumbroger

Ok Im no gunsmith but I must be stupid to not think of something as simple as a restock.

Ok now on the coyote the barrel is not a regular sporter weight, it's a little heavier.
Can I just buy a drop in sporter weight stock for a coyote or ?

I bought a short action m70 laminated stock by accident is is not nearly as cluby as the factory stock. It has been professionally pillow & glass bedded. I have $100.00 in it it's yours for that with a no questions asked return policy. If you are interested i'll weigh it & you can weigh your stock to see if there is enough dufference to worry with.

It is impossible for anyone to speculate how you would feel if you parted with your rifle.

You can NEVER EVER EVER EVER have enough rifles. Big Grin

If you want a lighter carry rifle, are you still wanting to stay with the same caliber? I was unclear in your post when you mentioned "270" in the latter part of the post. I thought perhaps you were considering the WCF.
