yankees1Synthetic or laminate stock?
Which is your choice and why?

Major CaliberI like both, and regular walnut too.

hacksawtomI go for laminated. It is as strong or stronger than synthetic. It's ever bit as stable in damp weather. It's less expensive. It's heavier for heavy recoiling rifles and finally, it's wood.
I own every kind of stock but I just really like the looks of laminated stocks!

StonecreekFor what purpose?
Bad weather and knock around-resistance, along with light weight; the synthetic is your best choice.
Appearance, stability, and potential accuracy without regard to weight; the laminate is the better choice.
But if you want a real gun, get Walnut.

<9.3x62>Its nice walnut or Mcmillan synthetics for me. Heavy laminates don't really jive with my lightweight hunting battery.

CrosshairsSynthetic because it's lighter weight and if you ding it up it's easier to fix.

stubblejumperWhile a laminate is more stable than other wood stocks in wet conditions a quality synthetic stock such as a mcmillan offers the most stability and strength.
