6.5BRThe last time I fired 100gr Hornady HP's, IIRC, I had 47 gr of Varget (memory-so check manuals) and using Rem Brass.
My Varmint (chopped to 21") with a 4.5-14x shot a 1/2 group for 3 shots. This load was consistently accurate, so I would consider this powder. I hear 3031 is good and other powders a tad faster than what you typically use for 140's (4064, some use 4350 SC).
The Sierra's shoot very well, all their 'big-mouth' HP's seem to do well, their BC's may not be as high as Hornady though.
I was astounded in the accuracy with 100's in the 7/08, I believe I was getting better accuracy than 120's for some unexplained reason.
My guess is the velocity is 3300-3400, depending on BBL length. It gets downrange in a hurry with light recoil (though blast high, compared to say 6BR).
It should make a helluva coyote round, I would 'load down' to reduce blast, etc a bit if your ranges are under 300 and you are shooting smaller stuff.

Alex.YRichard,
I havn't tried the 100gn but have loaded a few speer 'TNT' 110gn hollow point in the 7/08 with 49gns of H4350 behind them using fed gold match primers.
I had great sucess with them, very tight grouping and superb action on impact, for a varmint load great, for roe i would say stick to neck shots with these puppies.
good luck and have fun finding your sweet load.

DwightA second vote on the varget and you will love the 100 gr Sierra HPBT. I only load mine to 43 gr for practicing because I get the dame zero as my 120 TSX for hunting.

6.5BRThose Sierra's have shot very well in the past for me also in the '08 and 7br rifle.
What varmints are you after?
