I used them this yr in a 280 AI on 5 wtd. Results were outstanding from 100-300 yds.

Those are really nice + great performance bullets. I've used them in my 7X57 AI with great results.

Ive used them in my 7x57 on 4 or 5 deer. all heart lung shots and of course they worked, its all about bullet placement..I believe I prefer the Nosler Accubond on deer and elk.

My favorite deer load is a stiff load of H414 behind the great Speer 130 gr. fb or bt..followed by the same in the 145 gr..two of the best deer bullets Ive used..Ive use both for years on Mule deer, Whitetail and the little Coues deer in the Texas Big Bend country..

The Scirroco is a penetrating bastard that hits pretty hard. I lost track of the doubles I did on red and fallow deer on purpose, and still haven't found one in an animal. That was with 100 grainers in a 257 Weatherby. 130s in a 270 Weatherby leave fist sized exits in elk. They tear a coyote sized hole in a coyote too.
If they shoot in yor 7mm, go nuts.

We really, way overthink bullet selection these days.

the 150s are spectacular performers. You will be very pleased on deer sized game. I have also killed a lot of Wildes, zebras, gemsbok with the 180s and they worked great.

+1, as Ray says, it's all about placement.

Uh, hu. I still use plain vanilla cup and core for deer. Why would a bonded bullet be a problem? Confused

cause sometimes the target ain't hard enough to allow them to work.

a nice C&C bullet will open and do it's Job all the way through, a sucky soft one or a sucky bonded one will break up, or mush up too much and not exit.
some guy's like that some don't.

Sciroccos are great mule deer bullets. tu2 I've used them and I've also seen others use them and hammer some deer. tu2

With proper shot placement with any suitable bullet, mule deer aren't difficult to kill. I've gotten superb accuracy from Sierra GameKing and Nosler Ballistic Tips. I've also killed mule deer with inexpensive factory loads.

If I were to buy one mule deer dedicated rifle, it'd be chambered for .243 Win

For deer size game I believe the cup and core bullets are best, at least for the most part,
the corelokt and Power point and silvertip WW always worked for me as have the speer and Hornadys..They also work on elk btw, but I just feel better on elk with a premium bullet such as Nosler partition or Accubond..

I think a lot of folks are still living in the past when bullet failure was fairly common and its overflowed into todays choice of bullets, when in reality bullet failure is seldom the villian and in many cases misinterpreted.
the bullet makers have got it together today..

A question about Swift Sciroccos: Are they a bonded-core bullet? I have 100 coming--.270 130-grain.

Yes, and pretty tough too. I have found about 85% weight retention. Very good expansion.

All of Swift's expanding bullets are bonded.

I used them in my 7x57 last year on does and spikes in Texas, very light boned small deer and they worked just fine and didn't ruin a lot of meat. nickle size exit wounds with 150 Sciroccos...

Used them on two mule deer and on one elk, they worked as well as most bullets do today. I like them better than the A frames..I like the Nosler Accubond better than my old favorite partition for most animals at least...

Over the years Ive always had at least one 7x57 sometimes two or three, Ive shot more game with that caliber than any other Im thinking or as much as I have with the 30-06 I reckon..

My all time favorite deer bullet, the fastest kills and always super accurate is the 130 gr. Speer followed by the 145 gr. speer either BTSP or flat base in the 7x57 ...Never found any bullet that suited me better for Mule deer..
