If you favor the 7x57 and reload or have access to factory ammo in this caliber, you would probably second guess your purchase of any other caliber. I reload, but still choose a 7mm-08, but only because it filled a gap in my current collection. Another reason for choosing a 7mm-08 was that I have own a 358 Win and have shot many rounds out of 243's and 308's and like the efficiency and performance of these short action, 308-based cartridges.
