So I´ve graduated from crows to deer -got my first real game with the 9.3x62 this evening. Shot was taken from 50m and hit low on the shoulder and the deer took off like a bat out of hell. Ran 30 meters and died.

Looks like the 250gr Barnes X might be a bit hard on the meat...

The 9,3 works great?!

Boha and I didn't get any game last Friday, but in the morning we saw hare and some 5 roe deers.

I was only some 40 paces from a nice buck but as there was a heavy mist in the morning (we are hunting close to the Baltic Sea), all I could see in the scope was "milk". I wish that I had all scopes mounted with Suhler einhaks montage (German claw mounts) on my rifles.

We went to another place to hunt in the evening and boha had the pleasure to see more roe deers, one fox, red deers, a big wild boar hog that was closest for boha to get a shoot at. There was also more wildboars including one female with piglets.

Sorry I don´t have any pics but take my word for it the meat destruction was considerable...

The deer was hit a bit low right behind the shoulder -my mistake, sorry.

Marterius: It was a small whitetail deer, as you probably know they were introduced to Finland 75 years ago -a present to the old country from Finnish immigrants in the US.

Husky: I´m planning on saving the 300gr bullets for my trip next spring...I´ve been blessed with a good year as far as travel and hunting goes.

I am well aware of them, a friend of mine was over in Finland a shot one the first day and forgot the bolt to his rifle in the hotel the second day...

Marterius: Some years I´ve had deer coming at me from every bush (mild exaggeration) but this season I´ve felt jinxed -I´ve hunted ten days without seeing a deer! Then last evening this buck just stumbles out into the open about two hours ahead of time! Go figure.

Well, its nice to know that White Tails, that I enjoy hunting so much, found a home in Finnland. To Bloody that fine rifle of yours on America's favorite Game Animal is just gravy.

Last night No 2 hit the dirt! A nice sixpointed buck that would´ve been eight if it hadn´t been fighting. The Helia scope performed nicely because it was really last light when I shot. Pretty much the same shot placement as with the first one -behind the shoulder, ran 20 meters and expired. GOD do I love this rifle!

Those are indeed nice rifles. I liked them the first time they were posted. I especially like the rear sight on that top rifle. It's very much like the rear sight on my cz452. Very nice sight. I took second place in a silhouette match with it last month.

Any idea where one can buy such a sight?

Funny isn't it, I like the one on the bottom, which if I remember correctly is the 9.3.

For me it's the functionality of the sights on the rifle on top. Otherwise they seem similar enough.
