bullets for the .33 WCF
Any suggestions for a bullet for a single shot in this cartridge?
I was thinking the 210 gn Scirocco might be dandy. I hear Scirocco's tend to overexpand and penetrate poorly at high speeds, but that hints they might expand well at the lower speeds of the .33 WCF.

snowmanI would try either the 200 gr Hornady Spire pt or the 200 gr Speer. Either would expand more reliably at reduced velocity
Midway sells the Hornady 200 grain flat point made for the .33 Win.

packrattusnongratusFor a 240 gr WLN with large meplat try these folks.
www.mtbaldybullets.com If you want to transmit energy to the target try these. As Elmer Keith is supposed to have said, "they let the blood out and the air in." I have used similar bullets in other calibers and had great success. Killed a large man sized silhouette at 200 yards with the 240 grainers today at 200 yards out of a .33 WCF in an 1886 Winchester. Good luck. Packrattusnongratus

snowmanIf you go to the flat point as z1r suggests you should buy up all you can find . I believe Hornady is discontinuing this bullet.

Hornady has definitely discontinued this bullet. I was in the process of building a 33 Winchester on a Marlin, that had been a 45/70. Their stopping production of the bullet is what made me scrap the project.
They have to use their capacity to make all of these "new" trendy bullets that everyone thinks they need nowadays.

Savage99If I could not get the proper 200 gr flat nose I would load the 215 gr Partition backwards.
