SaxonPigWant to play a game?
I like this photo. All of the cartridges are standard .30 caliber, nothing metric or wildcat.
See if you can guess what they are from left to right.

I'm impressed. But no cigar.

SnellstromPretty sure I know which one I missed.

igorrockIs the second one 7,62x54R ?
24 August 2014, 05:53
Crazyhorseconsulting7.62x54 R instead of 30-40.

SnellstromI think the 7.62x54 or Russian has a shorter neck but I'm just going off memory and may be wrong.

IMO the fift one is too long to be 7,62x54.

Yes
303 Savage was my other guess besides 30 Rem

SaxonPigThat's the correct line up. The 303 Savage was the tough one due its obscurity. Might have been confusing since many are loaded with uncommon bullets. A soft point for the Carbine and the rest are FMJ (I have a Rolling Block in 30 WFC and I load pointed bullets for that one). Very good, everyone.
Here's the rifle that goes with the cartridge pictured second from left.

igorrockAt a first glimpse .303 Savage and 7,62x53R looks very similar
(both have same size bullet) but in real life x53R has a tad more space to gun powder.
