Well, the .260 didn't "do in" the .243, the 7mm-08, or the .308 (the .257 Roberts was just about "done in" by the .243), so I doubt the 6.8mmSPC will do in any other cartridge.

It's just a short .270, for crying out loud. I know it was designed as a man-killer, but I see it as a very good hunting round on the AR-15 platform for pronghorn and smallish deer.

Well, in view of the fact that the 160-grain .264 bullet's sectional desnisty is .328, and the 220-grain .308 bullet's is .331, I doubt that the 6.5 mm bullet will out-penetrate the .30 cal, if both are of equal construction and travelling at the same speed.....

Matter of fact, I'd expect them to be pretty much equal!

No. It's not powerful enough to replace either the .260 or the 6.5 X55mm.
