I just finshed this Mauser for my youngest son. It is built on a Charles Daly action with an A&B barrel, a Gentry three position safety, and a British Express stock from GAG. I glass bedded it and used a Timminy trigger.
Really happy with the way it turned out as it shoots moa and very light recoil. Hmmmm......maybe I'll wait to give it to him. Confused

Just a matter of preference but I'd leave it just the way it is, especially if you yourself do not checker. There is nothing ungainly in its present appearance. Winkroger

You are correct in saying that there is nothing ungainly in it's present appearance...25 years ago I preferred uncheckered stocks myself...today I like the "feel" of a checkered stock.. Smiler

Clean, handsome rig. Nice cheekpiece and shadow line. The lad should be proud, and so should you.

wee bit jealous I suppose.........of your son and your talent.

Looks like a rifle he'll be proud of (from a Dad who he'll be proud of) for the rest of his life.
