thismortalcoilStick with the 280, if you want something different 280AI. I've owned both the 280 and 338-06, if you have both you can shoot most anything you want. If it's just small deer, 280 wins hands down (but the 280AI would be sweet)

TreeFarmerPersonally, I would rebarrel it as a .280 Rem. and call it good. If you really want a non-factory chambering I would go with the .280 RCBS instead of the .280 AI. My other choice would be the .338-06.

Oldgunsanother vote for the 280AI..i am about to rechamber for 280AI myself. Any tips on rechambering to 280AI round. I know Nosler has brass for it.
