Great forum, just getting my feet wet here. Here is the first 8 shots @100 yrds from my Ruger Hawkeye 9.3x62 with 250gr Barnes TSX, pretty excited about this gun. Cheers!

Cant go wrong with that rifle!

I just got mine back from the importers today - as I mentioned earlier on this thread it was "soft stroking" the primers on some rounds and misfiring.

The firing pin spring has been replaced and firing pin protrusion has been increased from just under 40 thou" as it came from the factory, to 60 thou" so hopefully this will solve my problems!

Unfortunately it will be about 10 days before I find out! Patience is a virtue......

I have a Ruger 338 African also but the finish is more of a light colored bead blast, and its nice, but that deep royal blue on the 9.3x62 sets new records for factory bluing IMO..Its beautiful..

Mine has done that once now in probably 30 rounds, looks like im getting real deep firing pin penetration however one time it short stroked the primer and didnt set the shell off, I reloaded the same shell and it went off with good firing pin depth this time. Please let me know your fix.

Dead Eye- My understanding is that a lot of 9.3s like Partitions. I,ve got a CZ with a 20 inch barrel that does,nt seem to like em.
250 grain TSX, Accubonds, both pretty close, tight enough groups for not great eyes and iron sights. Same load for 285 grain Privi and 286 grain A-Frames, all seem to shoot pretty close to the same p.o.i..
Hunting and plinking rounds, crimp em all into the cannelure. Theres the Hornadys too, have,nt used those in a while.
Maybe I,m just lazy, but with the iron sights, seemed a lot easier to just figure out which ones were shooting well, and close to the same p.o.i., and fine tune those ones.
