I want 338-06 headstamped. Which would you buy and why. Norma, Weatherby, or Nosler. Price is of little concern to me quality is my goal.

Unless you have a Benchrest quality rifle it isn't going to make all that much differance.

Unless something has changed recently, Norma made all of Weatherby's brass, so they should be identical. I don't know who makes Nosler's brass, but I doubt they make their own.

I kind of like some of the lacy bras, but there's a lot of cute ones out there. Big Grin

I'd go for the Lapua. I've found their brass better than Norma lately.

I'm with Jarrod. Go to Victoria's Secret and click on bras.

I didn't know Nosler made 338-06 brass. Norma and Weatherby is the same brass just different stamp. Norma makes both. I use Norma for most of my 280 based wildcats. It has about 3grs more capacity than Rem/Win. However it is a touch softer. You will start to get some head expansion about 65,000. But I use that as my stopping point.

For a 338-06 I would go with Lapua 06 brass. But if you want the headstamp then Norma.

As usual just my $.02

I also did not know Nosler was making brass, I would certainly try it. I have used the Norma & Wby. stuff. I like it, it's very concistant.

Doesn't Quality Cartridge make 338-06 brass?

Good hunting,

I guess my mind was on a lady instead of reloading when I typed that one. I have tried Lapua,WW, and Rem brass in 30-06. Just thinking of a future hunt where the proper headstamp may be required. I am currently loading Weatherby. I think i'll try Norma next. I saw Nosler brass on a website but can't find it again. Thanks for your ideas

If you are using Weatherby now you are already using Norma brass. Norma makes the Weatherby brass.

I used to use Federal Brass or PMC those two would last forever. Now I use Norma but have found that Norma isn't any different than the Rem. brass as far as holding primers in for my 300 Wim Mag. So anymore I was thinking about buying some cheap brass for that gun.

My RUMS use Rem. brass.

Presized, smooth to the touch and the kind that really show off the points when they are really loaded up with a compressed load.

Eeker

Norma is great brass and will hold more powder, Nosler is good too.

A-Square, who registered the cartridge with SAMI, also makes, and sells brass. you can get it from MidWay. Not sure why it matters, unless you are going to Africa hunting and need ammo to match the caliber shown on the rifle. I make mine from Winchester supreme brass (to quickly ID it from the 06 stuff).

I would buy new LC military brass and resize to 338-06, it has no caliber stamp, so you are go to go!
