Trev:

It did not look anything like a howa, unless it is a lesser version of the Howa.

Will have to see

Was in Wally World tonight and noticed that they have a bolt action rifle from Mossberg.

it was in a 270 caliber and featured a synthetic stock, and already had the scope bases on it ( weaver style).

it was push feed design but seemed to be a lot better put together than the Rem 710 joke.

it struck me at on par with the Winchester Synthetic Stock ones at Wally Mart, but with a more traditionals feel to it.

However the final thing was the price!

$244.00! Is Mossberg looking to replace Savage as a cheap rifle that can really be accurate?

if anyone gets one of these a range report to the rest of the gang would be pretty interesting.

cheers and good hunting this season

I noticed somewhere that Howa used to make rifles under the banner for Smith and Wesson and others. I thought Mossberg was one of the names in the list.Just those two names stuck in the memory though.
