MileHighShooter1 in 12" 9.3 twist?
So I just got a call from montana rifleman about my 9.33 blank. Turns out the 14" twist button that's stanfard is broken and it could be quite some time before they get another. They did however have a 12" button. I went ahead and said go for it as to not delay my project any longer then needed.
I figure this is a good thing! This should make 300 a-frames and 320 woodleighs stabalize better, correct? My concern was more if the twist was going to be too fast for the 230-250 gr class of bullets for non-DG. Does anyone forsee this being a problem?

Rick RI've got a 12" twist on one of my 9.3x62 rifles and it shoots the 270gr Speer and 250gr Ballistic Tip just as well as it shoots the 286gr bullets. I haven't tried anything heavier.

Jeff SullivanAccording to the only information I can find, my Blaser R-93 9.3x62 barrel has a 14" twist, and I have gotten excellent accuracy out of 232 gr, 250 gr, and 285 gr bullets.

capowardYou were lucky to get the 12” twist rate. Your only potential issue may be with 230gr C&C bullets if of very-thin-jacketed construction. You should be no issue with 250gr bullets and the 12” twist rate is a definite plus for the 320gr bullets and all monometal bullets.
I may have to check tomorrow and see if any are still available.

MileHighShooterGreat! Sounds like this will work out in my favor as I had really wanted to try the 286gr and up for the big stuff.
