Picked up a Remington seven cal in 7 saum at the gun show yesterday.Came with 100 new brass and set of dies. Will be used primarily for deer.I'd like to replace the stock with a synthetic one , will any model 7 stock fit ? Any other users of this cal ?

snowmanYou should be very happy with that little rifle. They are a pleasure to carry especially in the bush. My M7 is in 300 SAUM but I also have a 7mm SAUM in the model 700. Barrel on the 700 is longer. Not sure what you plan to hunt with it but a good bullet in the 140 to 150 gr range works very well in this cartridge. Heavier bullets must be seated quite deep and compromise case capacity. RL 19 is very hard to beat. My rifle shoots the 145 gr Speer bullet very well. If I was going to use the 7mmSAUM on elk or something bigger I would use the 150 gr Partition. Hope that helps. One other tip.For hard to find cases even old unfired cases the necks can be quite brittle and some will split on first firing. Not sure if they were poorly annealed or they hardened with age or a combination. However I anneal the necks before using and they act like new cases. You may want to consider this.

rnoviI’ve had a Rem AWR in 7 SAUM for a few years now. Fantastic rifle. I got 10 reloads on Remmie brass before I started splitting necks and didn’t anneal the brass. So, I call that pretty darn good.
I really like the 140 AB as an all around load. I get 3,000 fps with the 140. That’s a bit slow by book standards but more than enough for my needs.
Anyway, my AWR is in a Mickey stock and it’s a wonderful 7# 3 oz with a Leupy 3.5-10x40. The SAUM just plain works.

CougarzAnswering the original question, I think all you have to do is make sure the stock is made for a magnum taper barrel.

Marlin.444I see boyds make a stock for it.Not sure I want to put any more money into it. Maybe I'll put a wrap on it.The guy I got it from said hadn't been shot a lot or hunted with. The stock is like new , I'd like to keep it in good condition.

CougarzLots of stocks out there for a model 7.
If you like the original stock why not just use it? It's not like it has any particular collector value or you are going to damage it hunting.
