Meopta 4x32 with Picket/Post recticle on 9.3 or 45/70 ??
How would people rate a fixed 4x32 Meopta with a Picket Post reticle for the scope of choice on a 9.3x62 cz rifle or a Marlin 1895 45/70 ??
Are these scopes a genuine alternative to Leupold in peoples opinion ??
I can't afford a high end Euro but was thinking due to the Euro Falvour of the Lux CZ 9.3 that a Euro Scope of some description may be in order. On the other hand it may also work on a Marlin Lever 45/70, with the 2.5 comapct going to my .458 Lott project.
The post/Picket looks as if it would have quick target acquisition attributes.
This may not happen as I have a 2-7 leupold here but am just tossing around ideas.
Thanks Folks.

<eldeguello>I don't know if these scopes are as good as or better than a Leupold. I also would like to hear what people who have them think!

For the price leupold is the best choice. Meopta isn't better than Leupold, I guessed it but after seen a range report of one buddy who is gunwriter, I have decided to forget meopta for the rest of my life

Hctor Carlos RovedaI use a 4x32 Meopta scope in my Winchester .338 Win Mgm since the last 10 years without problems. Nice, strong and clear (for the last hours of the day, excellent). Also in a stutzen in caliber 7,65 Arg. Mauser. Good Scope.

Have used a Meopta 4X for the last 4 or 5 years and it has been very good. Comparing it with a Doctor Optic 4X I have it is every bit as clear in all light conditions. However being steel tubed it is heavier than the alloy tubed jobs so if weight is a problem.......
Anyway from my experience they are very good value for money.

Thanks for the pics and infromation.
That is one different looking scope on the #1 Brno. My Father has a BRNO #1 which will be mine when he moves off the farm into town later this year

I will have the stock redone and mount a little scope on it.

JiriSome old meoptas are milky when looking to the light etc., but 2000 and 3000 series are very good. I belive quality is like CZ550 rifles, not best but for price very good. meopta also make lences for Zeiss I belive, lences are multi coated, scopes nitrogen filled etc., most used scopes here in Czech republic . . .

smlekidPC I just put my mepta on my 9.3 it looks like it was made for it I might just leave it there and see what happens
next month i am going to try my rifle on some real big bunnies i have just ordered some nosler ballistic tips i hope they get here soon they should be the go!!!!
smle,
I just mounted a leupold 2-7 on my 9.3 in warne fixed rings. First time I have been able to get a vertical split ring to work with a leupold variable
I thought about Nos BT's but I opted for the speer 270 gr bullets, we will have to compare notes on performance on paddock bunny's.
