DPhillipsWeatherby to bring out a Rimmed 300?
Rumor has it Weatherby had a Rimmed 30 caliber cartridge at SHOT. Some commented the cartridge looked somewhat like the 300 H&H Flanged (Rimmed) and others said it looked much longer like the 9.3x74R necked down to 30 caliber but with a steeper shoulder.
Since Weatherby doesn't currently make a rifle that utilizes a rimmed cartridge, I wonder what that they have in development. Since it is a small/medium caliber instead of an elephant masher, I'm guessing it is a singleshot. Also, being rimmed/flanged, I'd hazard a guess that they are going with a break action instead of a falling block, ala a Blaser or Heym instead of Ruger, Dakota, Hall, Hagn. That's just a WAG, though.
Anyone heard any facts or rumors?
