gunnymodel 70 extreme weather
Looking at a model 70 extreme weather in 300 win mag. Do you own one and how accurate is it?

Bear in FairbanksMe, me, me. I assume you mean an Extreme Weather rather than a .300 Mag. If so, then
I got rid of my .270 WSM, X#$%^@! Montana last Oct. and replaced it with an Extreme Weather in the same chambering. Only got to work with it a little bit before it got too cold. I did end up having a fiberglass pressure point installed under the forearm and it seems to have helped accuracy. I also just had the smith install an set of open sights as a backup should something happen to my scope. We hunt in remote areas for extended periods of time so I'd be screwed totally if something happened to the scope.
I just got a chance to shoot it again last week (it warmed up to about +15 deg) and with the Leupold 4.5-14, Vari - XIII, it easily put 3 shots into about 3/4". Once I get the load I'm gonna use for hunting worked up, I'll put my Leupold, Vari - XII, 2-7x scope on it.
I'm sure this rifle is going to perform very well and it's light enough for me to use as a sheep/caribou rifle. My opinion is biased tho - I've always liked the Win. platform.
Hope you enjoy yours.
