I've heard that Win 7x57 brass will be made in a "seasonal" run. Same with several other not-so-common calibers. I just payed $50 for 50pcs of new (probably made within the last few years, but not very recent production) 257 Roberts brass. I would love to get my hands on a couple hundred new win 7x57 and Bob brass at a reasonable price. Anyone have info on when new production might happen. Seems like they're selling out the common brass as fast as they can make it, so is there any incentive for Olin to make the less common calibers any time soon? Thanks for any info.

The retail stores are now up to their eyeballs in .223, 9mm, and .308 ammunition, which indicates that the ammunition (and brass) manufacturers now have time to turn to others like .243, .30-06, and .270.

It is hard to predict just when the brass mills will fill the backlog on common calibers and start to produce some of the less popular numbers. Could be weeks, months, or years. There is an opportunity for some of the smaller brass mills to turn out some of the scarcer calibers, but tooling up for an oddball is expensive if you don't already have the proper dies, etc., so it is an iffy proposition for the smaller mills to crank out .25-20, .250 Savage, or .38-40 brass. We'll just have to wait and see.

And once it's produced and goes "to market" it will be snapped up very quickly. The cycle will then repeat itself.

Been looking for Bob brass for a while. Picked up some used stuff to get me through for now. You can always buy Nosler for about $1.50 each. WTF is up with that?? Is it brass or gold?

have not seen any new brass in Canada in 7x57 in 3 years. Still see Bob brass on the shelf here because it is not that popular a cartridge in Canada

I'm afraid the day has come wherein the US shooter has seen the ammo heyday, and we'll be required to use case forming dies etc with such rounds that are not top sellers..250 Savage, 25-35, 257, 7x57 just to mention a few.

Reminds me of WW2, wherein we had to make do with what we had and use good old American ingenuity in order to shoot many of our guns...

Make 257 and 7x57 out of milsurp 30-06s, 270s and 280s form 30-06. Make 250-3000 from 30-06 and 308. Make 25-35s, 38-55s, 32 special and 32-40s from 30-30s..

I have never seen it this bad, and one wonders what is going on and who is behind it, perhaps the ammo factories? the US government? and Idon't believe it can all be blamed on panic buying as the ammo boys will try to make us believe, I don't think panic buying can last 3 to 5 years especially in our present economy. I don't know the answer but just suggest possibilities and alternatives.

Graf and Sons website shows plenty of prvi 7X57 brass in stock. I know nothing about their brass, but have shot some of their plain ole jacketed softpoints in various calibers. 58/per hundred. If it's any good, seems like a good deal.

Have used Prvi brass for my 7x57 and 6.5x55 reloading for a number of years now. Its not lapua quality, but its been pretty good for me.

I have been shooting it in 9.3x62 for years, and it has more water capacity than any other brass and it last longer than any other brass in that caliber anyway, with Norma coming a strong second, but its thick and has about maybe 5% less capacity...I like Lapua also but its not any better than Privi.

Take note that Graff sells 9.3x62 Privi for the same price as 30-06, and that's about half of what the rest of the manufacturers get for 9.3x62.. This brass btw is label and stamped Graff, not Privi, but Privi makes it for Graff.

Ive had great luck with it in my 7x57 and 30-06 also and my 35 Whelen brass is made from 30-06 Graff/Privi brass.
