safari225gr or 250gr TSX
I am wanting some opinoins on the perfect elk/brown bear bullet to use in my .33G&A the 225gr or 250gr TSX. Thanks

Terry BlauwkampIt depends more on the range you intend to shoot as to what bullet to choose. I don't think it will make any difference to the Elk, as he will be dead anyway.
Also, some guns just like 225 rather than 250 or the opposite. Shoot them both and then decide.

Paul HStrictly for brown bears, I'd lean towards the 250 gr, but when you add elk in the mix, I might opt for the faster 225. See which one shoots more accurately, that would be my deciding factor.
The 250 gr bullet is loooooooong and takes up a lot of case volume. It was very compressed in my 338 win mag with an appropriately slow powder. The 225 shoots great.

phurley5safari ----- I have shot a .338 Win mag extensively in the past, I don't own at present but some of my Elk hunting buddies shoot them and I still reload for them. I now shoot a .338 Lapua and .340 Wby extensively and share them with my son and grandsons. By far the best performer for me in the bullet line is the 225 and 240 grain North Forks. I have also shot the Barnes X and XLC and TSX, Swift A-Frame, Nosler Partitions and Partition Gold, Kodiak, Nosler Accubonds, Sierra Gameking. The 225 grain North Forks are super accurate with the Lapua and the .340, while the 240 grainers are awesome tough bullets that also give .5 inch groups and will always be my choice against tough game.

Good shooting.

safariI am not to concerned with the 250gr bullet taking up space, the .33 G&A is a big case. I am going to get the 225gr TSX's to start with. Will let you know the outcome.
