rnoviThe Bob is one rifle that will never leave my collection. Truly a fantastic hunting cartridge. In my rifle it's the 117 SGK that really shines with H4350.

xausaWhat price does your buddy have in mind? It's hard to find an original .257 Roberts which hasn't been "improved" to Ackley or .25-'06.

CrazyhorseconsultingMy wife uses a .257 Robert's and it is a great cartridge. Her rifle prefers the 117 grain Remington Core-Loct Round Nose, but we are weaning it off on to 115 grain Barnes TSX.

AtkinsonThat 117 gr. Corelokt is hard to beat, I have shot a few deer and a couple of elk with that load, in a Rem 722 Bob that I got by riding two colts all summer for a neighboring rancher. I liked it a bunch.
I have used that same bullet a lot in my old 250 Savage mod. 99. It shoots good in that 1x14 twist contrary to what some have put in print..The 1x14 twist mod 99s usually handles 100 gr. flat base soft points well in everyone I have shot, they won't shoot Barnes X, or any boattail or Balistic tips as they must be too long to stabilize. Try them in your 99, you might be surprised..

rl andersonI have two, a Pre 64 M70 and a custom gun built on a 1909 Argentine Mauser. Both like the 110gr Accubond.
