SchauckisHeavy Rhino bullet experiences?
Rhino bullets have been discussed every now and again.
Does anyone have experiences with the 220gr .30 caliber or the 240gr 8mm bullet?

AtkinsonI tried some of them sometime back in the heaviest of bullet weights and they took up so much powder space that I couldn't get much velocity at all in my 30-06, and even a 300 Win. mag and a couple of other calibers..I had to push the string to get near 1900 FPS in the 06 and 2100 in the 300..Maybe I didnt' use the best choice in powders, if someone has had success Id like to hear about it..
However I suspect the 220 Rhino would be an excellent bullet in that weight at 2300 too 2400 FPS in the 06..I was shooting the 240s in the 30 calibers..Have not tried the lighter bullets but have heard good things about them.
The 240 in the 8x57 is simply too heavy, the 225 gr. was slow but not all that bad from a killing stand point. I did use the 225 gr. bullets (Woodleighs as I recall) in my 8x57 so a 225 gr. or there abouts in a Rhino should be a decent close range stopper.
I suspect they would be fine in a RUM or some long boxed, long throated rifle wherein the bullets could be set out about a caliber deep in the case. It would take a substansial amount of powder to push them to proper velocity for the calibers in question..Just my two bits based on limited experience..I didn't try them on game as I couldn't get the velocity I wanted.

gohip2000No experience, but I've heard they are pretty good bullets.
