Re: How to buy rifles via Internet?
I have found the 286 gr. Nosler to be extremely distructive on tissue and really bruises a lot of meat on deer and antelope...but I push them pretty fast in my Brno 9.3x62 M-21..I shot a deer day before yesterday with it and bloodshot one whole side and ruined both shoulders. I had a simular experience in RSA a few years back, but the Nosler is certainly a killer....The GS Customs grinds a big hole but does not ruin as much meat..I will try the Nosler bal. tips next chance I get..they certainly shoot well.

If you can round up the money and need a serious good elk rifle or a top African Plains Game getter, buy that CZ!
The CZ 550 series rifles are excellent bargains, and the 9.3x62mm round will kill every major critter on the planet. Since May 2004 I have seen or heard of hunters killing Moose, Sable Antelope, Waterbuck, Impala, Wildebeest, and Eland with the 9.3.

I took a used one (bought from the Classifieds here) to RSA in May. Took impala, warthog, blue wildebeast, kudu, and zebra with it. Used 286 grain Nosler Partitions. No bullets recovered!

Fine caliber. GREAT RIFLE.

First locate a local dealer with a dealer or gunsmith's FFL who won't charge you an arm and a leg to do the transfer. Then bid on a gun. If you win, send a money order to the seller along with a copy of the intermediary dealer's FFL. The seller will send the gun to the dealer and you pick it up from him after filling out all the proper federal paperwork . . . and any state req's that apply. Werry zymple!

Sorry to seem so ignorant but what is the process for buying a rifle on the internet? This thread seemed like it might be a good example of how to do it.
Thanks

I done grabbed it.
Now to see if I can work a good deal with my local dealer on some new Norma brass sitting on his floor in a tupper-ware container.....
God help me, my truck is on it's last legs, we're eating game meat exclusively... shit, you guys know how it is.

Charlie,

I use lapua brass in my cz lux 9.3 and I think it is really good stuff. Out of all the different brass brands I use I reckon lapua is the best....same price as Norma here to.

I use the speer 270 gr for thin skinned Aussie stuff, but If I where to use my 9.3 for heavier game like samber I'd load the woodleigh 320 gr soft noses

While Norma and Lapua brass is great ... for those on a budget the brass provided by Graf & Sons is fully useful and costs a lot less.

Brass can be made from 30-06 if you can trim after sizing. But the head size of 30-06 is just a smidgion smaller and it shows upon firing ... and Graf brass is so cheap!

Don't both with Speer's 270 gr Hot Cores ... the are just too soft. Have had them break up on game from 9.3x62 and 9.3x74R. Nosler Partitions and Woodleigh's work great!

RL-15 is a superb powder for the 9.3x62.

Enjoy the rifle ... it's a good one. I am so pleased with mine that it is NOT going away ;>Wink

Old Sarge,
Thank you for getting me back on the path.
PC, Mstarling, Thanks for the tips about brass and loads. I'll probably use Partitions for everything. I can get the seconds pretty cheap at Shooters Pro Shop in Bend, OR. I hadn't thought about Graf brass. Will use that for messing around and Lapua for future trips across the big salty pond. My local dealer does tend to be very proud of his wares.
