American Hunting Rifles
Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm wanting to purchase a set of really accurate, reliable, good looking rifles. One in a 300 or 338 something and one in 375 h&h or 404 jeffery. I want excellent accuracy as the lower caliber will be a sheep rifle. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Wayne is a good guy and does good work. You may post this in the Big bore section as he has a good following there. I am pleased with the work he has done for me.

Have you ever had a rifle completed ahead of schedule? I did not until my first build with Wayne.

He post on here as Bitteroot

Add me to the list of very happy customers.
Excellent work.
Fair price.
On-time completion (actually one was done sooner than expected).
Fantastic person with whom to deal.
I have two of their rifles.

WoW I actually thought I would look them up and find out "American Hunting Rifles" were built with American made parts. Instead I find they are built on CZ actions! What a deception in name.

I have six or seven of AHR's guns and one in the works and he makes a fine rifle. I have a 404 and a good friend has one of theirs and both are outstanding guns. I used mine on a hunt in camaroon and shot all my trophies with it out to 220 yards and it did everything i expect out of an accurate rifle. in tanzania last year shot buffalo and the 404 was noticeably harder hitting than the 375. i shot both on that trip. you will not go wrong with wayne and his guns

I believe other than using a CZ action (and even that they modify by replacing the trigger, straightening and filling the bolt, and replacing the safety with a 3 pos M70 type safety), the rest of the rifle is built by AHR. Of course they buy their barrels and I believe you can request a barrel by a specific maker.

I've been very happy with the work Wayne had done fore me.

Chuck

Wayne will also gladly build a rifle based on a GMA action which is American made.

He also put together a 458 Lott for me with a MRC action.

Please list all of the US made magnum length CRF actions that are readily available, especially the one available with double square bridges and with left hand models.

Had Wayne build me a 375 H&H on a GMA action, and is currently building me a 416 Rigby on a CZ action and synthetic stock. Have another CZ action that he is going to build a 600 OK on in the near future.

A real pleasure to deal with and keeps his build time to a reasonable time period. Guns are good looking and function well.

I sent my CZ 416 rigby into AHR to have the number 2 package done and a new match barrel installed with a tighter twist. For the work done, they offer a very fair price. I can't comment on their work yet, but my rifle should be back in a couple weeks and I feel confident I will be happy.

I haven't heard a single bad thing about AHR, but I've heard tons of great things about them and It makes you feel very welcome when the owner of the company deals with you directly.

I have had Wayne slick up my CZ and I have been thoroughly pleased with it. Not only will Wayne make your rifle work for a fair price, he will deliver the goods promptly and on schedule.

I wouldn't get too upset about the action being imported. You're still supporting American small businesses by having Wayne do the labor on your rifle. Besides, your handle is "aussie21." Isn't "aussie" just a nickname for an Australian?

What brand of car/truck are you driving? 100% American content parts, and made in the US, right?

Wayne builds great rifles, and does a fantastic job of customizing CZ's.

I think the US content on a completed AHR rifle will exceed that of a substantial portion of the other items you own.

I am not knocking his guns. I just did not expect to find one of the first things I would read on the site of a company called American Hunting Rifles to be that they use actions made out of the country.
