Re-bore Sauer 202 BBL
Can LaBounty, et al re-bore a Sauer 202 barrel? I am looking to make a 30-06 into a 9.3x62. At the cost of Sauer barrels, this would be the way to go if he can. Thanks, Lou

Cliff has retired, but his successor is deltagunshop.com

Another good re-bore shop is redmansrifling.com also in Washington state.

Shoot Jim Dubell an email at Delta, he's very prompt and will get back to you. He's doing a job for me, current leadtime for my rebore is 10-12 weeks.

Yes, it can. LaBounty rebored and chambered a Sauer 200 barrel (same as 202 barrels) for me in '89 or '90. I went from 270 to 338-06 AI. Because of the way the Sauer system works, he didn't need the bolt to chamber and headspace it; just the barrel and his DRO.

Thanks! I don't have any real use for a 30-06 bbl and a new 9.3x62 bbls runs about $900. Unless I can find someone to trade, this is the way to go.

Does anyone know how they change the cartridge info on the bbl? I am real picky about this. I have seen some that have been just stamped over the old and it looks like shit. Those I have seen where they machine the old off and nicely stamp the new cartridge looks much cleaner. Lou

Jim doesn't just do rebores he is a full service ACGG member. I'm sure he can fix the markings.
