I need a 9.3 x 62 fix

I keep coming back here to read something about one of my favorite calibers and there is nothing new on 9.3 x 62. I think I will go sit in the corner and suck my thumb. [Frown]

Harry, If it makes you feel better, my next range session will be shooting 200 gr. Hawk bullets out of my 9.3. Am just curious as to how fast they will go. After that it's 300 gr x-bullets from a 416 Rigby.

Harry...In about 7 weeks I'll be in Alaska with my 9.3 x 62 hunting caribou..

Admittedly, it's more than is needed for caribou, but gives a margin of confidence when one of those hairy Volkswagons comes lumbering over the tundra.. On my last AK hunt in '99 I saw 8 grizzlies, and I must admit my .280 Rem seemed rather small...hehehe..

After the hunt, I hope to report on the terminal effect of Barnes 250 X bullets on caribou....

Harry, I'm still working on my 9.3x62 project, built on a VZ-24. Assuming I can ever get the @@##$$%## barrel off of the receiver. -Fred

Well, hopefully, by this weekend I will have my finally found 9.3x62 FN and a bunch of other stuff in my SKB golf case back from my trip to Africa (I arrived 6/28!). When I get it all sorted I will be able to post some pictures of the hunt and recovered bullets and tell some stories. Until then I wait in frustration! Can you imagine not being able to look at photos of your first trip to Africa until 2 weeks after you arrive????

If you had taken it in a Tuffpak it would have rolled thru the front door with you when you got home! I just paid the photo bill for our 39+ rolls of film...$1,600 but they were not done at Wal Mart...they were done in a pro lab in Dallas. Even the bad ones look goooood!
Hurry up and get on with the stories and the photos! Just divert the gun to my address and I will make sure it is ok etc. You will get it back in a few decades! [Razz]

The Tuffpak was almost bought... found the SKB which worked great and used the difference in $$$ to pay for a springbuck hunt. [Wink]

Tuffpak or SKB or ??? it sure was nice to only have one piece of luggage to roll around. I was informed today that it has been sent to me and should arrive no later than this Friday. Can't wait.
