300 WSM in a Savage
Anyone have experience shooting and loading for a Savage in 300 WSM? Are they accurate? This one I am looking at has a synthetic stock and an accu-trigger.
Thanks, Mark

I won a Savage 300WSM a few years ago at a Friends Of The NRA Banquet. It is a model 16. laminate stock, stainless .It does not have a accu-trigger. After a trigger job, it shoots real well. I am still developing loads for it.

I took mine to Africa and took a warthog and Springbok with it.

It will shoot just about anything I load in it at about 1MOA and considerably better with my handloads.

Savage ain't much to look at and aren't the smoothest actions out there but they've got it where it counts - accurate, strong, and well-priced. Typically, they can be pretty light and handy, too.

Is it a stacked magazine or staggered? I prefer single stack for the WSM's they seem to feed a bit better. I worked up a load at a friends request using 180gr partitions and it shoots very well.
