larryshoresBullet for Ibex
We leave December 12 for Spain to hunt the Ronda and the SE ibex. I plan on taking my 270 Browning X bolt.
It is currently sighted in with 150 grain Sierra boat tails. I use that load for whitetails.
Should that bullet be adequate? I have a couple of boxes of Trophy Bonded Bear Claws. I am thinking that they might be better.
Any comments would be appreciated. I have never shot the TBBC's in any of my rifles.

DUKIbex are tough and you might have to take a wide and/or quartering shot.

MileHighShooterWhy not try the TSX? I read your other thread, you seemed impressed with them.

larryshoresI have the TBBC but none of the TSX. Perhaps I should try and guy some.

MileHighShooterNot sure if you wanted to use a bullet that light (remember barnes will penetrate better even in lower SD then standard bullets) but midway has the 110 TTSX on sale

fredj338Just me, but if I were going all that way & spending all that money, I want a bullet that I know can get it done from 100-400yds. The SIerra GK is a soft bullet in any caliber. A 130gr TBBC or other premium is mor ethan enough for Ibex.

makiMy .270 loves 150 gr NPs. Fast initial expansion, deep penetration when needed. Mine groups the factory Federal loads well enough that I haven't bothered to hand load for the .270 in quite a few years.
Enjoy the hunt and the country,
Dean
