The brandnew MAUSER 03 is now available.
As Mauser is very interessting in exporting this new rifle, I fear we pay in Germany much more for it than in other countries. Our price here is 1645 EURO for the basic model. magnums 155 more. What do you pay for this Mauser 03??

Gander Mountain is going to carry them, but hasn't received any yet. They're a big discount chain, and should give us a good idea what the pricing will be. I haven't actually seen any on the shelves here, though. One guy who sells older Mausers (and is pretty proud of them judging by his prices) has them listed on his site for $12,000. I can't imagine they'll really go for anything like that, though.

It looks as though this rifle has a lot in common with the Sauer 202. Frankly, I wouldn't be too surprised if they are made by Sauer and marketed under the Mauser name. $12,000 though is WAY out of line. I bet the dude added a zero by mistake.

That's it.

I have actually never handled an M03, although as an R93 user I very much like the idea of the cocking mechanism and the switch barrel system. My brother in law handled one the other day, and he liked it - all steel, said the cocking mecahnism worked very smoothly.

The Mauser M 03 seems to use intertwined technology from its Blaser-Sauer-SIG parent cy., i.e. :
- from R93 : bbl. and bolt head switch, scope mounting, cocking mechanism :
- from 202 : bolt lugs (PF) + locking in bbl., magazine.
Kettner advertizes the basic model at 1735 �.
