mr rigby.338-378 Improwed
Well i finally got the idea of how i should get away with the 300 win mag problem of the m-70 rifle i have been bothering with for a while.
Solution: i asked a friend if he wanted to swap rifles, and he agreed, that will be a custom Brno 602 thats been slicked up with a laminate stock in 338-378 Weatherby Improved, complete with scoperings and mounts, dieset, brass, bullets, cartridges . the barrel is a thick Douglas stainless one, and the rifle can be easily turned into if preferred to a 416 or 505 .
Well thats probably someone who thinks thatss ridicously, but iam looking forward to it.

fredj338After you shoot it you may want to turn it into a .416.

Fat_AlbertAfter about 300 or 400 shots you will most likely have about 4" of freebore. On your new barrel I would go with a 450 Rigby chamber (500grs at 2450fps). Just the sound of a 338/378 Imp makes my shoulder hurt. Lots of luck.

mr rigbyThe rifle is not al ightweight, its build as a benchrest shooter, and its more powerfull than the .338 A-Square. A 250 grain Lapua FMJ in ca 3250 fps. It sounds more and more interresting for longer range work.
The Chey tac cases are difficult and expensive to get over here, but Norma makes the .338-378 cases, so thats plenty to get, and also firefirm ammo for it will be fine.
A Benchrest celebrity over here saw the rifle once and he said :"Thats a god........ truck axel!!"
