Bertram brass?

sactollerBertram brass?
Curious is the Bertram brass, still poor quality or has it improved in the past few years?
I have a project in the mix and if the brass is not up to snuff, then I may have to go a different route.
How is the quality of the Quality-Cartridge brass?
Thanks,
Jason Z Alberts

enfieldsparesWhat calibre? There may be other routes if we know!
Brass quality! Harrumph! I bought some 280 Ros cases from HDS about fifteen years ago.
About 15% of them had "issues" with the shoulders. As in splits appearing on an initial run through an RCBS FL sizer die in 280 Ross.
If Bruce Betram made those then they were poor quality indeed!

Art S.My impression has been that the brass is way too hard in the shoulder/neck. I started neck and shoulder annealing all the new brass. If I didn't, it was terribly hard to resize and would stick in the die on the expaner button. After annealing it performed flawlessly. This issue could well cause splitting too.

sactollerThe 350 Rigby has piqued my interest.

sactollerThank you for the link, they sell the brass through Huntington's. It is not on Huntington's list, I will call tomorrow to see if I can get it.

enfieldsparesAh! Now I'd ask if they made Huntington's 280 Ross in the 1980s then!
As my HDS .280 Ross cases came from Huntington's then and were headstamped HDS!

lee440I am very happy with the cases Quality Cartridge made up for my .318 WR's. Unlike the Bertrams I bought which were just rubbish.

sactollerI just spoke with Quality Cartridge and they are waiting on their supplies and should have a batch of .350 Rigby brass done by the end of March or there about.
