Fasteelmessin with a 308
A few years ago a long time bud was gettin rid of his HS Precision HTR in 308. Had only shot it 350 shots. I bought just for fun and maybe some long range messing around at the range, but no comp. shooting. Also trying to use up some 30 cal bullets I bought a while back
The fist load I did with this rifle was with 125gr ballistic tips and got a great load with 48.5 gr of Win 748.
The next bullet I have to load is a 150gr nosler solid base. Any of you fellows have a fav. load for a 150gr bullet. FS

42 grains 8208, 2800 fps. Worked great in my bull barrel. Near Max. I suspect.

Ghubert44.5 grains of H4895 under 150gr Interlock.
2750fps, nice case fill and not quite max.
VV N135 is normally my powder for 150 grs bullets in a .308. Mostly because I already shoot N135 in other calibers - as opposed to the commonly used N140. N135 works very well, though.

marshmandanI am proud owner of the world's most picky heavy barrel 308. It doesn't even do all that great with Federal GMM. 3/4" on a really good day. Out of the 13 Rem 700s I currently own its the least accurate.
46.5 grains of IMR 4320, winchester primers, and most any brass will put 150gr Ballistic tips under half an inch.
49 grains of IMR 4320 and a 130gr Hornady Spire Point will get me five shots completely covered with a quarter.
I wish I could find a load with Varget, but about an inch is the best I can get.
