300 H&H in a 300 WBY?
I read that you can fireform 300 H&H in a 300 Weatherby. Anybody do it? Is the brass good for reloading after fireforming?

I have never done a 300h&h, but have done 100s of fireforming in 375 AI can't see the differance. Also Roy Weatherby and every other speed hungry wildcatter, started out that way.

No I haven' tried because 300 Weatherby brass is so cheap nowadays but....

It is supposed to work fine except you will have shorter necks than factory. The brass shrinks in length as it swells in diameter. Much more cricumferential stretch than your typical AI cartridge.

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

Sure, you can fireform 300 H&H brass in a 300 Weatherby with no problems.

Like the other guys stated Weatherby brass is not that expensive, but I did it just to see how it would work. Heck, lots of guys did it routinely years ago.

The brass fireformed just fine and would certainly be good to reload.

Perhaps it makes more sense to reform .300Weatherby to .300H&H??? Confused
