Winchester Actions?
What do you know about the Winchester model 70 controlled round push feed actions? I am considering purchasing a new Model 70 Super Shadow in 300 WSM.

That new action might just be the best one yet. Having said that though, the only place I can think of their design being better than the original controlled feed would be if you would like to set up multiple barrels on the same action, or perhaps for a takedown.

Looking into the crystal ball for a moment..... this new action my be the design that helps Winchester stay competitive with the other makes over the next few decades. The existing Pre 64 Classic action has got to cost them substantially more to build than the new CPF action, and with Remington, Ruger, Tikka, and Savage all coming in with a somewhat lower price point, Winchester needed to come up with something to stay in the mix..... without giving up features.

In short, I like the new design, but it only shows advantages if you intend to remove the barrel frequently.
